It's not the situation itself that determines how you feel, but the belief you hold about it. When you learn to change your beliefs, you begin to change your emotional responses.

Activating Event

A situation or event occurs. For example, someone doesn't call you back or you make a mistake.

B

Belief

The meaning you attach to the situation, such as "She hates me," "I'm a failure," or "This is terrible."

C

Consequence

The emotional and behavioural response that follows, such as anxiety, guilt, anger or sadness.

Change your Belief (B), and you'll begin to change your emotional Responces(C).
